WELCOME to FIT TO FLOURISH!!!
First, let me say how excited I am to be sharing something with you that has been in the works for quite a while. I loved my old blog at Health & Happiness, but that was what I’m going to call my “beginner blog.” After emailing healthy newsletters to family and friends for a few months, many people suggested I simply start a blog… something I never thought in a million years that I would do. BUT… here I am… one year since my first blog post, and I couldn’t be more excited to be writing to you at this very moment. I am so grateful of the responses I have received from many of you who have followed my blog. It truly makes my day when I hear from someone that my blog either inspired them or simply provided information or entertainment. You are why I write. So to say thank you… I have invested lots of time and a few other things to create this new blog for you!
Health & Happiness was a simple title. It got the message across and no explanation was necessary to explain what the blog was about… but I’ve been wanting something more! I wanted a name and a brand that was more unique, fun, and just more “me.” I wanted my blog to be more user friendly and instantly represent what health and wellness means to me. Coming up with the name was not easy… Health & Happiness was just too perfect. So I thought about words that went along with “health.” Instantly, “fit” came to mind, but I didn’t just want it to be about fitness because health is so much more than that. And from there the new name just hit me… like a sack of potatoes… but only the best sack of potatoes (locally grown and organic, of course)…
FIT to FLOURISH encompasses the idea that being fit is more than just being physically fit. It’s being fit on both the inside and out… mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically… and that is what ultimately allows you to flourish in all aspects of your life.
Being FIT is being HEALTHY, being HAPPY, and being YOU.
As with any new project or endeavor, you seek progress and not perfection. I’m saying this because I’m trying to tell myself that right now. I was hesitant to reveal the site today because there are still several changes and edits that need to be made, but I just couldn’t wait any longer!! This blog will always be a continuous work in progress in order to make it the best it can be for each you amazing readers. So if there is anything you would like to see… let me know! Progress not perfection…. I must thank Angela, one of the co-founder’s of Replenish Retreat for sharing that saying with me.
And speaking of REPLENISH RETREAT!!!
Let me get you up to date on everything that is happening here!! Yesterday was my first full day of the retreat, and I’m seriously at a loss for words at how incredible my time has been already. It is unlike anything I could have ever imagined. I am surrounded by nothing but health, fun, laughter, organic food picked locally just a few days ago, intelligent facilitators, and so much more. I feel completely relaxed and at peace.
Our flight was delayed on Monday, BUT we arrived just in time to take a taxi straight to the harbor and hop on the most amazing sailboat I have ever seen for a Voyage to Wellness!
While we were on the boat, Dr. Edward A. Taub gave a brief talk sharing his simple 10 Step Wellness Prescription and guided us through a brief meditation. He also gave everyone a complimentary signed copy of his popular book, Managing Your Stress in Today’s World.
Then we hoisted the sails and enjoyed the ride!!!
After the sail, we headed to Hotel Seven 4 One where freshly prepared wheatgrass shots, orange slices, and hot tea awaited our arrival!
I entered our room and was greeted with a personalized Replenish Retreat yoga mat, Klean Kanteen, leather journal, and a super cute Replenish tank top!
After getting situated at the hotel, it was dinner time! On the menu was a quinoa, spinach, and mushroom stuffed red pepper with a side of the freshest asparagus I have ever tasted. I enjoyed dinner in the large gathering room that is at the center of the hotel. The room is open air so I could hear the ocean… if only I could eat every meal like that!
After dinner I enjoyed some warm chamomile tea while sitting outside on the patio watching the sunset. We wrapped up the evening with a relaxing meditation on our Replenish Retreat yoga mats in front of the fire. I’m getting better at this whole meditation thing. At first, I couldn’t quiet my mind or my body… but it takes time and practice (I know that sounds weird that it would take practice), but eventually… it starts to work its magic.
It is so incredible to be surrounded by people craving a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Not only are guests learning about health and wellness, but they are learning about themselves, each other, and not to mention… having tons of fun!! I have already met so many intelligent and inspiring people. It couldn’t have been a more perfect start to the retreat. I can’t wait to share more with you!
With Love, Health, and Happiness,
Cami

Cami, you should be so proud! Your blog looks amazing! You must change your profile on your twitter to link this address too! Your retreat looks wonderful, so soothing and relaxing. Did you create the retreat? I love the idea of sailing! Did the boat take you all to the hotel? So cool. You have been a very busy lady with lulu, the retreat, and your new blog! Let go of perfection and you will be much happier. It is what it is, and your blog DOES look perfect! xo

Michelle, thank you so much for the kind words about the new blog! And thank you for the twitter reminder… lots of things to update! You know how it is
The retreat was absolute bliss. We didn’t take the boat to the hotel… we went for about a 2 hour sail and saw dolphins… so relaxing! I did not create the retreat. You can read about the two co-founders of the retreat at the Replenish website, http://www.replenishretreat.com. They had an incredible vision and it has been amazing to see it actually come to life. I led a few gentle yoga classes and also taught a class on how the Replenishers can easily make the healthy transition to their lifestyles at home after leaving the retreat where organic meals and exercise were prepared and readily available. Yes, busy is my new middle name, BUT loving every second of it! I would rather be crazy busy doing what I love then not busy and doing something I didn’t really enjoy.
And you are so right about the perfection thing! Makes life a whole lot easier. I hope all is well… I’m still loving your blog as always!!
